Saquon Barkley Family Ok After Being Victims Of Home Invasion, Per Da
Saquon Barkley and his family were the victims of an apparent home invasion at his Chester County, Pennsylvania residence on July 18, the Chester County District Attorney's Office announced on social media.
The incident occurred around 5 a.m. in the Malvern section of Tredyffrin Township. When police arrived, the suspects fled the scene. One is believed to have entered the home of the Philadelphia Eagles star, but police do not believe anything was stolen and released an image of a white SUV that may have been involved.
Barkley and his family were home at the time of the incident, but suffered no physical harm.
“All of the occupants in the home were physically OK, obviously a little unsettled as anybody would be, but nobody was harmed,” Tredyffrin Township Police Department Capt. Tyler Moyer said via NBC 10 Philadelphia.
Chester County detectives are assisting Tredyffrin Police with the investigation.
"We are incredibly grateful that the Barkley family was not injured during this incident," a statement shared on Facebook read. "We are asking the public to help us identify those responsible by checking any home security cameras for suspicious activity in the area around 5:00 a.m. If you saw anything unusual or have video that may assist investigators, please contact the Tredyffrin Township Police Department immediately."
Police are also working with federal and other law enforcement agencies to determine if there is a possible connection to other high-profile burglaries at the homes of professional athletes.
"We will look at all angles of this because we know, obviously, it's been all over the news in the past few years about different professional athletes' homes getting burglarized," Moyer said.
Barkley is the latest NFL player to be victimized of a home invasion.
The homes of the Kansas City Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce were each burglarized within 48 hours of each other in October 2024. The Cincinnati Bengals' Joe Burrow was robbed just a few months later on Dec. 9, 2024, when the burglars stole an about $300,000 worth of items.
Three Chilean men were charged in relation to the events at Burrow's home in Feb. 2025. Athletes from various sports have been impacted by the string of home invasions and robberies.
The Tredyffrin Police Department and the Chester County District Attorney's Office did not return an immediate request for comment at time of publish.
