LAS VEGAS, NV - JULY 18: Bruce Thornton #2 of the Houston Rockets looks on during the game against the Memphis Grizzlies during the 2026 NBA Summer League Semifinals game on July 18, 2026 at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NBA. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Rockets fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys.

This week’s question asked you to grade rookie Bruce Thornton’s NBA Summer League performance this summer. Thornton got off to a red, hot start, and though he laid a bit of an egg in last night’s loss to the Memphis Grizzlies, scoring just 8 points on 2-for-12 shooting, he did add 8 boards and 7 assists to go along with some top-flight performances in his previous games. It’s important to note that we graded Thornton before last night’s game, which could have changed some results.

As you can see, 68 percent of voteras gave Thornton an A, while if you count the As and Bs, that’s 98 percent of voters. I think it’s safe to say that not many were expecting this type of production from the Rockets rookie.

Don’t forget to head over to our friends at FanDuel. Thornton is currently a +25000 to win NBA Rookie of the Year. That means if you’re feeling really confident, a $100 bet will earn you a cool $25k if he somehow wins it. Certainly a long shot, but one that might be worth the chance.

Thanks for voting. We’ll be back back soon with more Reacts.
