Seahawks Fullback Robbie Ouzts’ Season Is Over
After missing consecutive practices in the first week of training camp, concern surrounding Seattle Seahawks fullback Robbie Ouzts grew, and the worst case scenario came to fruition on Tuesday afternoon.
The Seahawks announced they’ve placed Ouzts on injured reserve. Since this is preseason IR, Ouzts will not return this year. It remains unclear what injury the second-year fullback is dealing with or how long he could be sidelined.
When first asked about Ouzts’ situation on August 3, head coach Mike Macdonald indicated the team was looking into his situation, but hasn’t since provided full update. However, with the team practicing this afternoon, a clearer picture could soon come into focus.
Although he participated in organized team activities (OTA’s), it’s worth noting Ouzts missed the NFC Championship game against the Los Angeles Rams and Super Bowl 60 against the New England Patriots with a neck injury.
In a depth move, Seattle signed former Patriot Brock Lampe on Thursday, leaving him and Brady Russell as the lone fullbacks on their current roster.
Ouzts missed Weeks 4-7 in 2025 with an ankle injury but finished the year logging two starts across 12 regular season appearances where he primarily served as the lead blocker.
Seattle replaced Ouzts’ roster spot by signing inside linebacker Aaron Smith, who had a tryout with the Seahawks earlier in the week.
