Seahawks’ Robbie Ouzts Done For Season Due To Neck Injury
The worst fears regarding Seattle Seahawks fullback Robbie Ouzts have been confirmed.
Not only was Ouzts ruled out for the season after he was sent to injured reserve, but we now know through ESPN’s Brady Henderson that it’s a neck injury for the former Alabama player.
I can confirm that it is a neck injury that sent Ouzts to IR. https://t.co/by7EOVMpmV

Seattle signed former New England Patriots and Northern Illinois fullback Brock Lampe last week while Ouzts’ status was in limbo. Ouzts missed the NFC Championship win over the Los Angeles Rams and Super Bowl 60 against the New England Patriots with a neck injury suffered in the Divisional Round romp over the San Francisco 49ers. While he practiced throughout OTAs, minicamp, and the early stages of training camp, obviously this issue has flared up again.
It is impossible not to think that Ouzts’ career is in jeopardy given the innate seriousness of neck injuries, and the Seahawks are no stranger to this. Mack Strong, Chris Carson, Kam Chancellor, and Cliff Avril all were forced into retirement with their respective neck injuries, so it’s absolutely reasonable to wonder what the future holds for Ouzts in terms of whether it is medically safe for him to continue playing football.
Hopefully there will be good news for Ouzts’ health at some point, whether he returns to the Seahawks or not next season.
