It’s another week and another insane comeback win for the Denver Broncos. This time it came against the previously AFC West leading Kansas City Chiefs. With 15-unanswered points in the fourth quarter and a heck of a goal to go stand to send the Broncos into first place in the division and the second seeded spot in the AFC.

The win was also a milestone for head coach Sean Payton who notched his 200th career win and became the sixth-fastest to do it.

What a way to reach that milestone too. Payton was asked about his range of emotions during the final moments of that 200th win and he hit a bit on how special it is to be a part of a great NFL team and the great wins that come with that.

I’m screaming at Vance one second and then I’m hugging Vance and shaking Andy’s hand. There’s nothing like it.

“Every one of us at some point has to get off this thing, but you don’t want to,” Payton said after the game. “We’re all better having been on it than never at all. So I’ve been fortunate to have been a part of a lot of good players and a lot of good organizations. People that make that happen. So it was emotional. The timing of the game and everything else. I’m screaming at Vance [Joseph] one second and then I’m hugging Vance and shaking Andy’s [Reid] hand. There’s nothing like it. I think the little bit of the curse is that I hate losing probably more than I like winning. So this was a good win.”

The ending was special, but what made it so was who they did it again. Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs have been dominant when holding a double-digit lead in the fourth quarter. In fact, they were 80-2 before today. Eighty and Two.

The Chiefs were 80-2 with Patrick Mahomes when they had a double-digit lead in the fourth quarter before the 28-24 loss to the Broncos.

This is a statement win for the Broncos. It’s a win that can catapult a team down the stretch. For all of the criticism the media and fans have thrown at them, this team is 6-2 and in firm control of their destiny. Maybe its time for all of us to just enjoy this ride…
