Shedeur Sanders Catches Shade From Joe Flacco For Visor Choice

Cincinnati Bengals rookies take note: Do not wear a visor around veteran quarterback Joe Flacco. Especially if you're a quarterback.

Flacco, who played with the Cleveland Browns to start the 2025 season, laughed at then-rookie Shedeur Sanders for wearing a visor in a scene from the third season of Netflix's "Quarterback" documentary series. The veteran, who was 40 years old at the time of filming, teased Sanders, then 23, for thinking he looked cool with a mirrored visor attached to his helmet.

"You notice Shedeur don't have just like a clear visor, he's got the clear mirror," Flacco says to one of the Browns' coaches in the clip.

Fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel defended the choice as practical at first, asking Flacco why visors were criticized despite their function as an "eye shield." The veteran countered that by doubling down on making fun of visors and those who wear them.

"Yeah, but if you wear a visor, it's for looks," Flacco said. "You think you look sweet. It's that era. I don't want my kids to wear visors either. They all want visors. I'm like, 'Guys, they're just annoying. They're gonna fog up.'

"They (expletive) suck, dude. It's all about look. When I was a kid I wanted a visor too, and then I'm like, 'The visors suck. They don't make sense.'"

Sanders responded by asking whether Flacco would let his kids wear a visor. Flacco said he would let them but warn them that they don't look as cool as they think.

"I would let them wear it, but I would tell them, 'You're a quarterback, bro, you're (expletive) wearing a visor? You look like a (expletive) idiot,'" Flacco said, turning to Sanders.

"If you're a quarterback, you can tell (when) you're trying to look too sweet."

The scene ended with Flacco promising he'd consider wearing a visor if the Browns managed to "get a win."

Flacco went on to start four games for the Browns to start the season. He and the team defeated the Packers in Week 3 for Cleveland's first win of the year, but the team benched him after Week 4 and traded him to the Cincinnati Bengals before Week 6. He never wore a visor with Cleveland before the trade.

Flacco started six games for Cincinnati filling in for the injured Joe Burrow in 2025. He signed a one-year, $6 million deal to stay with the Bengals for the 2026 season.
