Steelers Make Roster Moves Ahead Of Week 2 Vs. Patriots
The Steelers made a number of roster moves ahead of Sunday’s matchup against the New England Patriots.
According to a team announcement Saturday, Pittsburgh has elevated running back Travis Homer and defensive back Doneiko Slaughter from the practice squad to the active/inactive roster for Week 2.
Both players will revert back to the practice squad following the game. Slaughter was previously elevated for the team’s Week 1 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons, providing some extra depth at defensive back with corner Joey Porter Jr. still out.
Homer will provide another name at running back and as a special teamer; it remains to be seen how his availability will affect fellow running back Eli Heidenreich’s game status.
In addition to the practice squad elevations, the Steelers announced they have placed wide receiver Max Hurleman on the practice squad/injured list. Hurleman was a preseason standout; his absence opens up another spot on the practice squad for Pittsburgh.
