Steelers Open As 4.5 Point Underdogs To Patriots
The Pittsburgh Steelers used some vintage TJ Watt heroics to escape with a victory over the Atlanta Falcons in their Week 1 contest. After getting a favorable matchup against Falcons third-string quarterback Cooper Rush in their season opener, Pittsburgh will now have to travel to Foxborough to take on the 2025 MVP runner-up, Drake Maye, in Week 2.
The Patriots fell to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 1, much like they did in Super Bowl LX this past February. FanDuel Sportsbook is banking on the Steelers to outright lose to New England in Week 2, as they currently favor the New England Patriots by 4.5 points. You can get the Steelers to win outright at +205 here. The total for the game is set at 42.5.
The two teams met last season in Foxborough, and the Steelers emerged victorious. Pittsburgh used five New England turnovers to earn a 21-14 victory. After a rough showing against Atlanta, Metcalf will return to the stadium where he caught his first touchdown pass as a Steeler just a year ago. The Patriots played their Week 1 game on Wednesday, so they will have the significant rest advantage over the Steelers. However, they will be without their top receiver, AJ Brown, who landed on injured reserve after suffering a high ankle sprain against Seattle.
A 2-0 start would certainly give Pittsburgh a lot to be happy about, and would also send the defending AFC champion Patriots to 0-2 on the year.
