Steelers Reportedly Trading Ot Broderick Jones To Cowboys

The Pittsburgh Steelers are reportedly moving on from Broderick Jones, with the fourth-year offensive tackle being traded to the Dallas Cowboys, according to multiple reports.

Pittsburgh will reportedly receive a third-round and a sixth-round pick in the deal, sending Jones and a fourth-rounder to Dallas. Jones, a former first-round pick is entering his fourth season in the league.

Despite establishing himself as a starter, Jones had a significant amount of competition on the Steelers’ offensive line heading into the season. In Pittsburgh’s first depth chart of the year, Jones was listed as the second-string left tackle behind Troy Fautanu.

Meanwhile, the arrival of Max Iheanachor as the 21st overall pick this year also gave the Steelers some strong depth at right tackle, making Jones’ ability to switch less likely.

Jones was selected by the Steelers in the first round of the 2023 draft, going 14th overall. He became a de facto starter in his second year, though his season last year was cut short by a neck injury.

The trade allows the Steelers to move on from Jones before the year starts, while the Cowboys add some depth at tackle.

Jones, whose last game was in November, will need to pass a physical before the trade can go through.
