The Dallas Cowboys held their annual Blue and White Scrimmage on Saturday. If you are unaware this is just another training camp practice where the mothership has a broadcast that shows things happening throughout it.

At one point during the scrimmage/broadcast team EVP Stephen Jones was being interviewed. He was discussing the state of the team’s roster and noted that they have done some small things over the course of camp, but he specifically said that he believed the 90-man roster would look different in the coming weeks. He went as far as saying that he would say this if he were a betting man.

Jones kept it coy in terms of what kind of move could be on the way. He noted that the Cowboys are actively talking to other NFL teams as well as veteran free agents which could suggest a trade or free agent signing.

Right after this point Stephen discussed the areas on the roster where he has seen the most intense roster battles. This answer was somewhat revealing relative to the previous one as he said that cornerback and linebacker are the two areas where they don’t necessarily have an incumbent.

This is hardly breaking news to anybody who has been paying attention, but it does suggest more legitimately that this could be where the Cowboys look to make a move. Las Vegas Raiders pass rusher Maxx Crosby has been connected to a lot of rumors, but he doesn’t play either of those positions. Simply put, that isn’t where Dallas is most in need.

Could the Cowboys look to trade for or sign a veteran at corner or linebacker? That certainly seems inevitable. Who would you want it to be?
