Stock Up, Stock Down: Michigan Football Players At The Nfl Combine

The NFL was abuzz in Indianapolis last weekend at the NFL Combine as hundreds of players showcased their athleticism to pro scouts. Eight of them were former Michigan Wolverines. Now that things are wrapped up, let’s see who helped and who hurt their stock over the last few days.

Edge Derrick Moore – Stock Down

News broke before the event began that Derrick Moore strained his hamstring and would not be participating in any drills. At the Senior Bowl, his performance was strong, including a viral video of him flattening 6-foot-9 Miami tackle Markell Bell.

Riding that momentum, not running at the NFL Combine was a missed opportunity to boost his stock even further. It’s a marginal stock down, and a strong Pro Day in a few weeks could flip the narrative if his hamstring heals up.

Edge/LB Jaishawn Barham – Stock Up

If you believe in Relative Athletic Score (RAS), Barham projects better at linebacker than defensive end at the next level. He finished in the 87th percentile among defensive ends and in the 94th percentile among linebackers.

At the same time, he was top-seven among edge rushers in everything except for his vertical jump. With his 240-pound frame, he may be a little light to play there at the next level. So his best chance of being an earlier pick is likely by a team that sees him as an outside linebacker. A developmental selection at edge likely means he falls a little further with substantial upside either way.

DT Rayshaun Benny – Stock Up

Like Moore, Benny’s stock shot up after a really strong showing at the Senior Bowl. While he didn’t perform in the 40-yard dash and the bench press, Benny did participate in a couple of drills on the field, impressing many scouts in the process. He even picked up a couple of interviews, including formally with the Steelers.

LB Jimmy Rolder – Stock Up

The Wolverine who helped himself the most in Indy was Rolder. He tested out at 94.9 percentile RAS all-time, finishing third in the three-cone drill, and No. 4 in shuttle. Heading in, many wondered if he would even be drafted, but he showed he has the measurables to play at the next level.

H-Back Max Bredeson – Slight Stock Up

I think it’s pretty hard for a fullback like Bredeson to show out at the NFL Combine. What makes it even harder is not going through any of the testing, likely saving it for his Pro Day. Results for Bredeson show on the field and with his leadership. Meeting with the Raiders is a good sign that there is some interest in his services.

TE Marlin Klein – Stock Down

After being on The Athletic’s Freak List before the 2025 season, many expected Klein to shine at the NFL Combine coming off an injury-riddled season. Instead, he disappointed with a 4.61 40-yard dash and a 7.42 three-cone drill. He’ll need to run again at his Pro Day, which will be key to his status heading into the NFL Draft.

WR Donaven McCulley – Stock Down

Speed has become the name of the game for the wide receiver position the last few years. Fourteen guys ran 4.40 times or better this year, but McCulley decided not to run. He’s fighting an uphill battle to be drafted, and leaning on his 6-foot-4.5 frame won’t be enough for an NFL team to give him a shot. His Pro Day numbers will be telling.

K Dominic Zvada – Stock Up

There were only three kickers in Indy, and Zvada was one of them. Despite inconsistent play in 2025, Zvada did well in the dome of Lucas Oil, making a majority of his 50+ opportunities. He performed as expected, and in an exclusive group, that’s important. At minimum, he’ll likely be in a camp battle after the NFL Draft.
