Teams Have Been Calling About Broncos Backup Quarterback Jarrett Stidham
According to The Athletic’s Dianna Russini, teams have reached out to the Denver Broncos about the availability of backup quarterback Jarrett Stidham. The veteran backup started the AFC Championship Game vs. the Patriots after Bo Nix suffered a broken ankle and is viewed highly by teams around the league. With it being a weaker quarterback market, teams are exploring all options when it comes to finding their quarterback, and that includes calling the Broncos about Stidham.
As the QB market plays out, trade targets remain in play for several teams. I’m told teams have reached out to the Broncos about backup Jarrett Stidham, whose lone start of the season came in the AFC Championship Game against the Patriots. pic.twitter.com/7fcFg33LAH

We had a report a few days ago, potentially linking the New York Jets to Stidham due to former Denver Broncos executive Darren Mougey being their General Manager. The team is reportedly looking for two cost-effective options at quarterback, and Stidham fits what they are looking for.
Other teams could be looking at Stidham for the same reason the Broncos brought him in. He raises the floor of their quarterback room, can compete for the starting job, and at the very least, he is a top backup quarterback. With the quarterback market not very good this offseason, a player like Stidham may have some value.
However, should the Broncos do this? Having a reliable veteran backup quarterback is valuable in the NFL. If I were the Broncos, I would be looking for at the very least an early 4th round selection for Stidham. Having him be the backup for Bo Nix is more valuable than getting a late-round pick in return for Stidham. Apply that quarterback tax and make teams pay to get Stidham if they really want him.
Stidham has started three games for the Denver Broncos, including the AFC Championship Game this past season, after quarterback Bo Nix suffered a broken ankle in the final plays of their thrilling Divisional Round victory over the Buffalo Bills. Stidham started out hot and connected with Marvin Mims for a big play and would follow that up with a touchdown pass to Courtland Sutton a few plays later. Unfortunately, everything, including the weather, went downhill after that, and the Broncos would go on to lose to the New England Patriots.
Now I ask you, Broncos Country. Would you consider trading backup quarterback Jarrett Stidham, and if so, what kind of return would you want back for him?
