Texas offensive tackle Trevor Goosby will miss the remainder of the 2026-27 season with a knee injury, ESPN’s Pete Thamel reports.

Losing their left tackle makes a disappointing year for the No. 11 Longhorns (5-2) even more difficult with five games remaining on their regular-season schedule.

The 6-foot-7, 325-pound lineman sustained the injury to his left knee during the first quarter of Texas’ 34-27 win over Ole Miss on Saturday. He went down after pass-protecting on a 7-yard throw to Derrek Cooper and eventually had to be carted off the field. Goosby returned to the sidelines on crutches and out of uniform during the second half.

Following the Longhorns’ win, head coach Steve Sarkisian updated reporters on Goosby’s status, saying that the injury didn’t “look very good.”

During his four seasons with Texas, Goosby appeared in 37 games with 22 starts. After earning First Team All-SEC honors last year, he was named a preseason First Team All-American by the Walter Camp Football Foundation, analyst Phil Steele and the Associated Press.

Goosby, 21, began his senior campaign as a top offensive line prospect for next year’s NFL Draft. In his first mock draft of the season, Yahoo Sports analyst Nate Tice ranked Goosby as the second-best tackle after LSU’s Jordan Seaton, projecting him to be picked with the No, 16 selection.

Texas is tied for fifth in the SEC at 2-2 and 5-2 overall. The Longhorns moved up eight spots to the No. 11 spot in this week’s AP Top 25 poll after defeating Ole Miss. They host Mississippi State (2-3, 4-3) next week in Austin at 7: 30 p.m. ET.
