I am surprised it took this long, but the Tennessee Titans have parted ways with L’Jarius Sneed.

Titans are releasing CB L'Jarius Sneed, which will save Tennessee $11.4 million against the cap, per sources. Titans informed Snead’s agents, the Katz Brothers, of their decision today; Sneed now will become a free agent. pic.twitter.com/fj4JPvZiSf

The Titans sent a third-round pick to the Kansas City Chiefs back in 2024 to acquire Sneed. After acquiring him, they signed him to a 4-year, $76.4 million contract. It will go down as one of the worst acquisitions in franchise history.

The thing that is most frustrating about it is that Sneed had health concerns when the Titans made the deal. Now, while it wasn’t the bad knee, officially, that cost him most of the time he missed with the Titans, it’s never smart to give up a third-round pick and give a bunch of money to a guy with an extensive injury history. That’s not THE reason that Ran Carthon was fired, but it is certainly on the list.

This move doesn’t really increase the Titans’ need to add multiple corners this offseason because we all knew that it was coming. We spend so much time talking about the needs at EDGE and wide receiver for this team, but corner might be the spot where they are the thinnest.

This move saves the Titans almost $11.5 million against the 2026 salary cap.
