Titans Oc Candidate Brian Daboll Gets A 2nd Interview With The Raiders

It’s been well documented that the Tennessee Titans want to hire Brian Daboll as their next offensive coordinator. It’s been a complicated process, because Daboll was among the candidates for the Buffalo Bills‘ head coaching job. The Bills held a delayed process, but have now promoted Joe Brady to head coach, per the NFL Network.

Meanwhile the Titans have continued looking into alternative candidates to be Robert Saleh’s OC. The team completed a trio of interviews on Monday with Kliff Kingsbury, Adam Stenavich, and Thad Lewis, per Paul Kuharsky. Saleh worked in San Francisco with Stenavich, who is currently the non-play-calling OC for the Green Bay Packers.

Well, a complicated process just got even more complicated. Daboll has completed a second interview with the Las Vegas Raiders for their head coaching gig. Receiving a second interview insinuates Daboll may be a finalist for the job.

Daboll came closer to being named Titans OC following Brady’s appointment with the Bills. Daboll remained in the mix in Buffalo due to his relationship with Josh Allen, but Buffalo ultinately opted to promote Brady, who was getting interest elsewhere.

The Raiders have also shown significant interest in a number of coaches, including Denver Broncos QB coach Davis Webb and Carolina Panthers DC Ejiro Evero. Ironically, Brady interviewed there twice before taking the Buffalo job. Webb is a strong candidate for the Raiders job, as is Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak.

The Titans continue to play the waiting game. The Bills made their decision, possibly accelerating the process. The Raiders could wait until after Super Bowl LX to make their hire if Kubiak is their preferred candidate. The Titans don’t necessarily have to wait until every coaching hire is finalized. They are simply waiting for Daboll to find out whether or not he’s a serious candidate in Vegas.
