Washington Wizards guard Trae Young re-aggravated his right quad injury and further imaging also uncovered lower back irritation, the Wizards announced Saturday.

Young’s injuries won’t require surgery but will be treated “conservatively.”

Young suffered a right quad contusion last Monday against the Golden State Warriors. It’s the same injury that caused him to miss over two months this season with both the Atlanta Hawks and the Wizards.

Considering the injury will be treated “conservatively,“ and that the Wizards didn’t provide a timeline for when Young will be re-evaluated — which they have done with nearly every injury update this season — it appears likely that Young has played his last game of the 2025-26 season.

In five games with Washington, Young has averaged 15.2 points and 6.2 assists on 59.5% FG and 42.9% 3PT.

The Wizards are 16-53 and have lost 14 straight games — two shy of tying the franchise record for consecutive losses. They sit 4.5 games inside the league’s bottom-four records with 13 games remaining as they attempt to keep their top-eight protected first-round pick.
