Vikings Lose Wr Jalen Nailor To Las Vegas Raiders

The “legal tampering” period of NFL free agency is in full swing, and as many expected, the early stages have left the Vikings with a significant hole to fill on their wide receiver depth chart.

Wide receiver Jalen Nailor has agreed to a three-year, $35 million deal with the Las Vegas Raiders. Given what the Raiders currently have on their depth chart at the position. . .and, yes, I know it’s early in the offseason. . .Nailor could well be WR1 in Sin City as it stands right now.

Nailor was a sixth-round pick of the Vikings in the 2022 NFL Draft out of Michigan State. After battling injuries for most of his college career, Nailor has remained relatively healthy in the NFL, only having to deal with injuries in one of his four NFL seasons thus far. He appeared in every game for the Vikings over the past two seasons, and provided a solid third option at wide receiver for the purple behind Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison. Over the last two years, he caught 57 passes for 858 yards and ten touchdowns, including four scores this past season.

With Nailor out of the picture, it remains to be seen what the Vikings will do at the WR3 spot on the depth chart. Tai Felton will likely be expected to step up and take on a larger role after seeing just about no time in the offense last season. The Vikings could also look to free agency for a veteran option or look to supplement things in the 2026 NFL Draft. The team also has a decision to make on Jordan Addison’s fifth-year option coming up in the coming weeks as well, which is something that could play into that decision.
