Vikings Schedule 2026: Do You Want The Vikings Playing On Holidays?

It used to be that the only holiday NFL fans really had to pay any attention to was Thanksgiving, because you knew that there was going to be a doubleheader on that day. The Lions were going to play someone right around noon or so, the Cowboys were going to play someone later on in the afternoon, and that was going to be it for football until Sunday rolled around again.

Now, with the NFL being what it is, they’re taking up every holiday. We’ve got games on Thanksgiving and Black Friday (and even Thanksgiving Eve, which isn’t even a thing that actually exists but forget it, we’re rollin’), we’ve got games on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, and whatever other holidays the NFL can roll the NFLPA into believing that they need to schedule games for next.

With that in mind, I want to present a question to you Minnesota Vikings fans out there. Do you want to see the Vikings playing in these holiday games? Or do you want them to just worry about Sundays as much as possible.

I understand that every team plays at least one Thursday game a season in the interest of fairness and all that. Frankly, whether or not the Vikings play on the holidays or not isn’t of a great deal of concern to me. . .I wind up working most holidays anyway. When the Vikings played the Lions on Christmas Day last year, I listened to most of the first quarter on SiriusXM because I was driving home from work. I don’t have kids and my wife and I generally don’t travel much during the holiday season, so the Vikings playing on the holidays doesn’t throw my schedule off too much.

But I understand that isn’t the case for a lot of you out there. Does the Vikings playing on a holiday present any conflicts for any of you folks out there? Or is it an opportunity for you to gather around and watch our favorite team and celebrate/comiserate in the spirit of the season?
