I saw this topic on Pro Football Focus and thought it would be a fun one to share here to get your perspective in the comments, and also as a WCG roundtable for our writers.

Before checking in on what we had to say, here’s what PFF gave for their favorite Chicago Bears move of the 2026 free agency period.

Favorite Move: LB Devin Bush

The veteran linebacker played the best football of his career during his two seasons in Cleveland. His 79.2 PFF overall grade in 2024 ranked ninth among linebackers, and he was even better last season. In 2025, his 87.3 PFF run-defense grade ranked ninth at the position, while his 80.4 PFF coverage grade placed fourth, leading to an 87.6 PFF overall grade (fourth among 88 linebackers). Still, Chicago managed to secure him for only $10 million per year, which is tied for just 17th among linebackers.

Now here’s what our team had to say…

Jeff Berckes: Obviously, I love the bigger signings in Bryant and Bush, but my answer is Kalif Raymond. Last year, the Bears signed Olamide Zaccheaus and Devin Duvernay to fill the “Kalif Raymond” role in Ben Johnson’s offense. This year, they just… signed Kalif Raymond. A+

Sarah DeNicolo – Might be alone here, but my favorite move was bringing back Case Keenum and D’Marco Jackson. Jackson stepped up last year when everyone was injured. Keenum is a great mentor for Caleb and a veteran presence.

Mongo Peanut – Devin Bush. I am thrilled to see us getting faster at LB again. Hasn’t felt like we have had any juice since Roquan.

Erik Duerrwaechter – Coby Bryant. Not only is he an ascending young player with real Pro Bowl potential, his contract will not break the bank, either. The converted cornerback has found his long-term home as a safety and will patrol the Chicago airspace for quite some time.

Donald Gooch – Coby Bryant. Super Bowl champion, young, rangy, and a knack for the ball. He’s better than a Byard resigning.

Bryan Orenchuk – Coby Bryant for me. Loved Devin Bush since his Michigan days, but Bryant is an ascending hybrid type safety we have had in Chicago since Mike Brown. Coverage, run support, leadership, and tone setting all in one package. Fair price for a versatile DB entering his prime. Can’t wait to see him in DAs scheme.

Josh Sunderbruch – Coby Bryant. He represents a nice impact player at a reasonable price.

Gary Baugher Jr. – Love the Coby Bryant pickup, brings speed and versatility to a position we really needed it at in 2025. Bryant was high on my offseason wish list, and grabbing him makes me pretty happy. Pairing him with a young safety through the draft will unlock a lot of new angles of attack for Dennis Allen and this defense.

Sam Householder – Coby Bryant. I was worried about the complete lack of safeties under contract, and the team went out and grabbed a young player with exciting upside and proven production. Losing a productive vet like Kevin Byard stings a lot less when it’s a player of Bryant’s caliber.

Lester A. Wiltfong Jr. – It’s Bryant for me because of his versatility. Depending on who they pair him with, we may see Bryant used all over the defense. He’ll be back as a free safety due to his range, but he can play down in the box, and he can cover the slot, too.

Now it’s your turn. Which Bears move of the 2026 free agency period was your favorite?
