Maye celebrated his 23rd birthday at the end of August, on the cusp of the 2025 NFL season. Just three quarterbacks have started the Super Bowl during their age-23 season, putting Maye in exclusive company as he looks to earn the first championship of his NFL career.

Who is the youngest QB to start a Super Bowl?

Dan Marino is the youngest quarterback to start a Super Bowl. He was just 23 years and 127 days old when he led the Miami Dolphins against the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl 19.

The 49ers blew out the Dolphins 38-16 in Super Bowl 19, which marked the second Super Bowl title of Joe Montana's career. Marino completed 29 of 50 passes for 318 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in the loss, which marked the only Super Bowl appearance of his 17-year NFL career.

To date, the nine, sub-25-year-old Super Bowl starting quarterbacks have combined for a 3-6 record in the Big Game.

Tom Brady is the oldest quarterback to start a Super Bowl. He was 43 years and 188 days old when he led the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to a 31-9 victory over Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl 55, the seventh and final Super Bowl win of Brady's illustrious career.

Brady is the only quarterback in NFL history to start a Super Bowl aged 40 or older. He did so three times, tallying a 2-1 record across those three appearances.
