Starting Monday, pedestrians and bicyclists will instead have to detour more than two miles to Key Bridge or Memorial Bridge until the trail reopens in September 2027. The closure will facilitate the continued rehabilitation of Roosevelt Bridge.  (ARLnow)

Without public notice, firm hired for work on East Potomac Golf Links

The National Park Service hired an engineering firm to handle environmental and historic preservation compliance without notifying Congress or the public. NPS has also posted a projected construction contract worth up to $49 million. General store, cafe to open in historic Bethesda building

The 1920s building at 8804 Old Georgetown Road sold for $1.899 million to a Bethesda resident. The building has been vacant since 2016, but had been home to multiple general stores since the 1890s. Fencing surrounds main Kennedy Center building

Vehicle and pedestrian access was also cut off Wednesday, a day after a Kennedy Center board filled with Trump allies approved closing most of the venue for repairs. Flock technology pulled in Arlington

The county board directed staff to remove 41 Flock cameras, 26 license plate readers, and 15 point-tilt zoom cameras within 14 days, and to delete data not tied to active investigations.
