Homesteaders Life  is celebrating its 120th anniversary as it reports record growth and continued investment in the funeral profession.

The Iowa-based preneed funeral funding provider said it issued more policies in 2025 than in any prior year and paid a record number of claims, ending the year with more than $5 billion in-force and a 99% customer satisfaction rating.

The company pointed to ongoing efforts to modernize the preneed experience, including investments in digital enrollment, integrations, and tools aimed at improving connections between funeral homes and families.

Homesteaders also highlighted its support for funeral home partners, including more than $250 million deployed through its funeral home lending program, alongside what it described as the highest policy growth rates in 15 years.

“In a profession built on relationships, trust and service, longevity matters,” said Steve Shaffer, Homesteaders President, CEO and Board Chair. “For 120 years, Homesteaders has focused on keeping promises – to funeral providers, to our distribution partners and to the policy owners who have always owned our business. The growth we’re seeing today reflects our commitment to the long-term success of the funeral profession while building a company that will be here for the next 100 years.” – Steve Shaffer, Homesteaders President, CEO and Board Chair.
