Samsung Q2 2026 Profit Crushes Records On Ai Boom, Overtakes Nvidia And Apple

Samsung reported preliminary Q2 2026 revenue of 171 trillion won and an operating profit of 89.4 trillion won (around $58.4 billion). Samsung’s estimates surpassed NVIDIA and Apple to become the highest quarterly operating profit ever recorded by a technology company, with AI-driven memory demand playing the biggest role behind the milestone.

Samsung has done it again

Just three months after setting a new earnings record, the company raised the bar even higher. Preliminary results released today show revenue climbed to 171 trillion Korean won during April through June, while operating profit surged to 89.4 trillion won, up 56 percent from the previous quarter and an astonishing 1,810 percent compared to the same period last year.

Samsung didn’t simply beat its own previous record. It also overtook NVIDIA and Apple, becoming the technology company with the highest quarterly operating profit ever reported.

AI infrastructure spending continued to push demand for server DRAM and HBM, while even conventional DRAM and NAND flash enjoyed significant price increases because of tighter supply; Samsung benefited across nearly every segment of the memory market.

Industry estimates suggest the smartphone business slipped into its first quarterly operating loss as soaring memory prices increased component costs.

The foundry and System LSI businesses also reportedly remained in the red, while the TV and home appliance division is believed to have returned to a modest loss.

Looking ahead, the outlook appears favorable. Samsung still holds the industry’s largest DRAM production capacity, giving it room to capitalize if memory prices remain elevated through the rest of 2026.

Memory markets have always been cyclical, and pricing can change quickly. Even so, the current momentum suggests Samsung’s semiconductor business is operating at a level few companies have ever reached.
