Live: Tech Stocks Rebound; Aramco's Record Oil Discount; Nifty Set For Positive Start | Opening Bell
Wall Street ended higher overnight, led by a strong rebound in technology stocks, with the Nasdaq gaining over 1% and the Dow closing above the 53,000 mark. Meanwhile, Microsoft announced nearly 4,800 job cuts even as chip stocks recovered.
Oil markets remain in focus after Saudi Aramco announced its biggest crude price cut for Asian buyers in at least 26 years. Brent crude is trading around $72 per barrel.
Back home, FIIs were net buyers of Indian equities, while DIIs continued strong buying. The Nifty has now gained for four straight sessions and is trading above its 20-day and 50-day EMAs, with 24,252–24,300 emerging as key support levels.
