W (USA) - Wayfair showing signs a reversal to the upside is near

I spotted this one while using the TradingView Screener to look for stocks where the MACD was crossing above the signal line while still below the zero line; the RSI was heading up but still below 50 showing value was there; and the SMA 20 had recently dipped under the price.

Wayfair met all these criteria, and has had a strong run over the past year, up roughly 200%+ before this recent pullback. The company is an online home goods e-commerce retailer, tied closely to consumer demand and housing activity.

Fundamentally, things have stabilised but not fully turned. Revenue trends are improving in patches, and cost controls are helping, but margins and demand remain sensitive to the broader consumer confidence. Things are tough in retail land so despite the indicators looking bullish, we might not get the recovery to the upside as expected.

On the chart, the prior uptrend has pulled back into a key area and is now trying to stabilise. Price is sitting around the 20 day moving average, with the 50 day rolling over and the 100 day flattening. The initial selloff was sharp, but the recent action looks more like a base forming near a value area. RSI is rising while still below 50, which often signals early momentum returning without being overextended. At the same time, MACD has crossed up its signal line while still below zero, pointing to a potential early stage momentum shift rather than a late move. Price holding around the 20 day adds to that short term constructive tone, suggesting a possible reversal attempt underway. Volume has eased during the consolidation, which supports the idea of selling pressure drying up.

If this starts to build with higher lows, it would strengthen the case that this could be one to watch if the trend continues to build from here.

PLEASE NOTE: Nothing I post is trading advice. All investing involves risk, and past performance doesn’t predict future results. Trends can and do end. For 2026, my goal is to try and post one new asset each trading day. Something outside the usual gold, silver, BTC, or big tech names. I like to find stocks worldwide showing steady trends with some good gains, a recent pullback, and signs of renewed strength. I don’t necessarily hold positions in these. They are simply companies I find interesting at the time of posting. I’ll often revisit them within a week to see how they went and share any updates.
