XPENG has launched the MONA L05, the first five-seat large SUV in its MONA series, in China, with six versions across battery-electric and extended-range powertrains. Official guide prices run from RMB 144,800 to RMB 176,800, and launch-period prices from RMB 139,800 to RMB 171,800, according to XPENG's Chinese press release and IT Home's report from the October 29 launch event in Guangzhou. XPENG says the first 5,000 units have already rolled off a dedicated production line, and deliveries began on November 1.

The battery-electric line-up comprises the 560 Plus (launch price RMB 139,800), 535 Max (RMB 149,800), 635 Max (RMB 159,800) and 635 Ultra SE (RMB 171,800). The extended-range versions are the 1310 Max (RMB 149,800) and 1310 Ultra SE (RMB 161,800). Those prices sit roughly RMB 20,000 to 30,000 below the RMB 169,800 to 191,800 pre-sale range announced on October 15, Chinese outlets including National Business Daily and Bitauto noted. Orders placed before December 15 qualify for extra launch benefits.

The SUV measures 4,870 mm long, 1,930 mm wide and 1,636 mm tall, with a 2,940 mm wheelbase that is longer than the XPENG G6's. Its exterior design team was led by Juanma Lopez, formerly head of exterior design at Ferrari. Storage includes a 102-liter front trunk and a 702-liter rear trunk that expands to 1,913 liters with the rear seats folded.

Every electric version uses a 183 kW rear motor with lithium iron phosphate batteries of 58.2 kWh or 71.1 kWh, giving CLTC ranges of 560 km, 535 km or 635 km. XPENG quotes 11.7 kWh per 100 km energy use, 0 to 100 km/h in 6.8 seconds, and a 30% to 80% charge in 15.8 minutes. The extended-range model pairs a 1.5-liter, 70 kW range extender with a 37.2 kWh battery for 310 km of electric range and a combined CLTC range of 1,310 km.

Driver assistance relies on a vision-only setup. Max versions carry one XPENG Turing AI chip with 750 TOPS of effective computing power and run a distilled VLA Lite model, while Ultra SE versions use two Turing chips for 1,500 TOPS and the full second-generation VLA model, which XPENG says shares its architecture with its Robotaxi program. All versions support city and highway NGP and parking-space-to-parking-space assistance. The cabin adds a 26.8-inch W-HUD, a 17.3-inch center screen, an optional 17.3-inch roof-mounted rear screen and the Master Agent voice assistant for vague navigation searches and trip planning.

The chassis uses MacPherson front and five-link rear suspension with DCC adaptive dampers, a 5.4-meter turning radius and a 34.22-meter 100-to-0 km/h braking distance. XPENG says the car was developed to Chinese, European and Australian five-star safety standards, with seven airbags and standard automatic emergency braking and steering.
