Landers Exits As Alliance Ceo, Sheets Takes Helm

Dr. Steve Landers has stepped down as CEO of the National Alliance for Care at Home. He will be succeeded by Jennifer Sheets, a veteran leader in home-based care.

Landers served as the Alliance’s inaugural CEO since Sept. 2024. His departure went into effect on Feb. 9, the organization announced on Wednesday.

“I am deeply grateful and proud to have served as the inaugural CEO of the National Alliance for Care at Home,” Landers said in a statement. “This has been a true highlight of my lifelong career in home-based care, and I’m eager to see the continued success of the organization under Jennifer and the board’s leadership. Advancing home care and hospice should be amongst the highest public policy priorities for our country.”

Landers, a board-certified physician, formerly served as the president and CEO of Hebrew SeniorLife, a Harvard Medical School-affiliated senior living provider, and CEO of the Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) Health Group, a nonprofit home health, hospice and palliative care operator.

Sheets, who began her career as a nurse, will take the helm on Feb. 17.

The Alliance’s new CEO has previously served as an executive for several home-based care organizations, including Caring Brands International and Interim HealthCare, Bayada Home Health Care, Gentiva Health Services and Kindred Healthcare. Most recently, founded and served as the CEO of Carezzi, an AI-enabled technology platform that connects caregivers with patients and providers.

“I’m excited to help shepherd the organization into its next chapter as we continue advocating across the full continuum of care – home health, home care, palliative and hospice care – and expanding access for the patients, families, and clients we all ultimately serve, wherever they call home,” Sheets said in a statement.

Landers will work with Sheets and the Alliance’s board of directors during the transition process, according to the organization.
