Man Arrested For Sexual Assault Of 15 Seniors At New Brunswick Nursing Home
A 69-year-old Saint John man has been arrested for sexually assaulting 15 seniors at an east-side nursing home over the course of three weeks, according to police.
The victims, who range in age from their 70s into their 90s, were allegedly assaulted between Dec. 26, 2025 and Jan. 19, 2026.
The accused, whose identity isn’t being released by police until charges are laid in court, was arrested on Tuesday and released with conditions pending a May 26 court appearance, according to a police press release issued Tuesday afternoon.
Saint John police told Brunswick News Tuesday that the accused is a family member of a resident.
No other suspects are wanted in relation to the case, police said, and all victims have been identified following the more than a month-long investigation.
“This was a challenging, complex investigation given the vulnerability of the victims,” Saint John police Chief Robert Bruce said in Tuesday’s release.
“Our investigators worked tirelessly to bring the accused before the courts, while respecting the dignity of the victims.”
In late January, Saint John police announced a sexual offence investigation was underway at a senior-care facility. The force told Brunswick News at the time that a suspect, who had an “affiliation” with the facility, had been identified, but an arrest hadn’t been made.
Saint John police have never identified the nursing home in its press releases, but Loch Lomond Villa has sent out correspondence to its residents’ families in relation to a police investigation involving The Village, its 100-bed nursing home with four resident houses.
In its latest memo sent to families Tuesday, Loch Lomond Villa CEO Ashley King said the accused hasn’t been allowed on the property “since the investigation began, and this remains the case,” noting that “all existing safety measures remain in place.”
“We recognize that this situation has been deeply concerning for residents, families and staff,” King said in the memo. “From the outset, our focus has been on supporting those impacted and ensuring the safety and well-being of everyone at Loch Lomond Villa.
“We continue to work closely with the Saint John Police Force Family Protection Unit as their investigation progresses.”
