Jay And Silent Bob Crash The Marvel Universe This June

In 1995’s Mallrats, comic nerd Brodie Bruce took time out of his quest to get his girlfriend back to get love advice from Stan Lee himself (and grill him on superhero reproductive organs). Now, over 30 years later, his stoner buddies Jay and Silent Bob are crashing the Marvel Universe. Marvel today announced Jay & Silent Bob: Jays of Future Past, a one-shot that sees the star duo of the View Askewniverse cross over with Doctor Doom, the X-Men, and more Marvel mainstays written by Kevin Smith and illustrated by Giuseppe Camuncoli.

“From the moment in Mallrats when they made the very first reference to Wolverine in cinema history, I’ve always wanted Jay and Silent Bob to meet their Marvel heroes in a comic book crossover – so much so that I pitched it to Stan the Man himself the day he shot his cameo in the movie way back in 1995,” says Smith. “Thirty years later, JAYS OF FUTURE PAST represents both a love letter to the magic and mayhem of Marvel as well as giggle-inducing proof that our childhood dreams can still come true, even at age 55.”

Kevin Smith wrote several movies that helped define a generation, including Clerks and Mallrats, as well as countless comic books, including for Marvel.
