Zero dependencies, clear error messages with paths, supports both strict and loose validation modes.

My question: This is my first significant OSS project. v0.1.0 is ready and tested, but I’m unsure about:

  • How to handle contributions without getting overwhelmed
  • Setting up governance/decision making
  • Balancing feature requests with maintaining simplicity

Would love advice from maintainers who’ve successfully grown projects. How do you manage the human side of open source?

Congrats on shipping v0.1.0 — that’s a big milestone
From a maintainer perspective, the key is setting boundaries early. Start with clear contribution guidelines and a lightweight roadmap so requests don’t derail your vision. Simple governance (even “maintainer has final say”) is enough at first. Projects like Samigo App grow steadily by prioritizing clarity, documented decisions, and intentional simplicity over rapid feature creep—handling contributions with care and consistency keeps the human side manageable and sustainable.
