Cedarhurst Senior Living will add cottages in Missouri

Cedarhurst Senior living will expand its Cedarhurst of Farmington community in Farmington, Missouri with independent living cottages, according to an news release.

The addition will bring 23 new cottages for independent living residents, with construction expected to break ground later this summer before an opening in the fall of 2027.

The cottages will serve as an additional offering alongside existing assisted living and memory care options, and are designed for older adults 55 and older. The layouts will include two-bedroom floor plans with walk-in closets, full size kitchen appliances, in-home laundry and private garages with covered patios and gas fireplaces.

“We’re excited to expand our Farmington campus with a new independent living option that gives older adults the freedom to enjoy an active, maintenance-free lifestyle while remaining connected to a community they can call home,” said Almir Sajtovic, president of Cedarhurst Senior Living. “These cottages are designed to provide the privacy and independence residents want today, along with the confidence of knowing additional support is available if their needs ever change.”

Residents will enjoy amenities including a clubhouse, fitness center, shuffleboard court, putting green and dog park. Cottage residents will also have access to services offered at the community including programming, therapy services and transportation.

Oregon community expands with independent living addition

Willamette View, a senior living life plan community near Portland, Oregon, recently announced plans to start construction on Skyline, a new, eight-story independent living residence to serve as the “next chapter” for the property, according to a news release.

The independent living addition will add 92 residences to the campus, offering 23 different floor plans, from one-bedroom to two-bedroom with den options that range from approximately 1,000-2,000 square feet, each with its own private balcony.

Skyline will include a large outdoor patio and covered dining area with underground parking. Additional offerings include an amenity space, restaurant and bar. The project will fit into the 27-acre riverfront campus.

Residents also had a hand in the community’s overall design, with members of the volunteer sustainability and resilience workgroup to give input on sustainability considerations, like adding solar power and having the building’s layout maximize views of the Willamette River and minimizing sun exposure, according to the news release.

The community serves over 500 residents.

Wingate Living renovates Massachusetts community

Wingate Living announced the completion of construction on a renovation effort to transform the Wingate Residences at Pleasant Bay in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, according to a news release.

Design firm Markel aimed to create a space that “feels distinctly connected to its Cape Cod setting,” but also able to bring a “fresh, sophisticated approach” to senior living. The end result was a design that reflects the warmth, comfort and functionality of home life.

The transformative renovation upgraded all 59 units at the community, along with making changes to the community’s dining room, pub, movie theater, fitness center and shared spaces.
