Sodalis launches New luxury Brand Vivere Life in 4 texas Communities

Sodalis Living is rolling out a luxury-tier brand, Vivere Life, in four of its Texas communities.

The communities include Sodalis Stone Oak in San Antonio, Sodalis Longview, Sodalis Deer Park and Sodalis College Station, with the new brand meant to communicate a shift in focus, according to Shelby Anderson, vice president of sales and design at Sodalis. The company is with the new brand approaching “aging as a stage of life defined by need, to living as an experience defined by purpose, vitality, connection and choice,” she said.

“By removing ‘senior’ from Sodalis Living and introducing Vivere Life, which means ‘To Live’ in Latin, we are intentionally moving away from language that can carry outdated or negative perceptions of aging,” Anderson told Senior Housing News. “Instead, we are reinforcing the idea that our communities are places where residents continue to live fully, pursue wellness, build relationships and experience each day with meaning.”

The rebrand also allows the San Marcos, Texas-based operator to better differentiate the two sides of its portfolio, with Sodalis Living representing its managed communities and approach to assisted living and memory care, and Vivere Life representing the owned portfolio with an “elevated and lifestyle-forward” identity.

While starting with four Vivere Life communities, there are plans to add one more community to its roster this year, Anderson said. Sodalis is using the first four communities to judge the overall reception to the luxury brand before continuing to add to it.

“We will measure the success of the rebrand through a combination of resident satisfaction feedback, market perception data and performance indicators across both Florida and Texas,” Anderson said.

Sodalis is tracking resident and family sentiment through post-launch surveys, resident council feedback, referral comments, online reviews and recurring touchpoints with community leadership, Anderson added. The company will measure external reception through inquiry quality, website engagement, social media response, digital campaign performance, reputation scores and feedback from referral partners in each market.

Sodalis is not planning to renovate communities for the first Vivere Life communities, but the company’s approach is shifting to “create a lifestyle-driven senior living experience that supports the whole person … while maintaining the safety, support and compassion expected in assisted living and memory care,” Anderson said.

The new approach includes spiritual programming, fitness and movement classes, cognitive engagement, music and art, social gatherings, lifelong learning, nutrition-focused experiences and preventative wellness education, according to Anderson.

“Rather than leading with a clinical model, our goal is to create an environment that feels warm, engaging and hospitality-focused. Activities will be thoughtfully designed to promote purpose, connection, independence and overall well-being,” Anderson said.

While there are no plans to develop a new Vivere Life community from the ground up, it’s not off the table if the development market shifts and it becomes cheaper to build, Anderson added.
