(ex) Boyfriend Won’t Leave Apartment
Location: San Diego
I have a lease in CA. It’s me and my best friend on the lease. I ended up moving out before the lease was up and the boyfriend moved in but his credit wasn’t good so I stayed on the lease. BF and the boyfriend are no longer working out but since they have been living there for over a month I think he has claims to it and what not. The lease is up this month and she’s all packed up but he hasn’t packed a single thing of his own stuff. I think he will try to squat. The property manager is trying to helping my friend get into another unit at another property they own. I suspect he will squat and then force the property manager to serve us an eviction to try to force him out etc. He’s being petty because of the break up.
To make matters worse there’s been a bit of DV situation going on and there’s kids that live in the home. I’m looking for suggestions to protect us / prevent an eviction as well as a likely worse case scenario to prepare for that maybe we haven’t anticipated.
