Parking Ticket That Shows Me On My Motorcycle Riding... Not Parked
UPDATE: after some back and forth on a phone call and explaining my side of this, the fine was lowered to $35. still not happy to be paying this on the principal of how shady the signage was around paying for parking, but that is much better than $125.
Location: Georgia, USA.
Back in June i went to an art expo in Atlanta. i rode my motorcycle and when i got to the parking lot for this expo, the person directing traffic said i could just park next to a shipping container in the corner because I'm on a bike and the lot is small so spots need to be left for cars. Fast forward to now, September, my friend who i lived with almost a year ago now, get my ticket in his mailbox and its $125! The ticket is from ParkDNA.
The photos on the ticket shows me, on the bike, riding away.... not parked. Also this ticket is now way overdue assuming they were trying to mail it to me but it was bouncing back because there was an issue with my address at the DMV. i have not been contacted by any collection agency.
My question is, how do i go about not paying this. It seems very much like a cash brag with no actual basis to charge me. I don't want this to go to collections but I also believe this is a BS ticket with no legal standing. Would it be better to go to a traffic law firm or something? id also rather not pay alot of legal fees just to fight this.
