[mi] Got Pulled Over Tonight And Found Out I Had A Warrant Out For A Previous Traffic Stop??

Hey everyone,

Having a bit of a rough night at the moment but there might be a real silver lining. Got pulled over tonight because I did a rolling stop at a stop sign and while they took my info, the officer came back with a citation and mentioned that I have an arrest warrant out for a previous tag infraction from 2024. This surprised me because I got a letter in the mail that they'd garnish my wages to pay it off and they did. The officer was very kind to explain that I was supposed to declare a court appointment or something like that when I got the previous citation. To be honest, I had no idea that I had to do that and I thought everything was taken care of.

The officer let me go which really surprised me and told me to take care of it ASAP, which I'm going to do. I have 2 questions:

What's the best course of action I should take? I'm assuming I should contact a traffic lawyer but wanted opinions
Did I unknowingly mess up things like future job opportunities and stuff? I feel like the term "arrest warrant" is gonna follow me now and not gonna lie, I'm a little unnerved at the thought right now.
