15 Year Old Dui

I’m honestly not sure if there is any way to get around this but any information is very helpful!!

I got a dui when I was 19, I am now 34. I have never had my license or permit. I was young and stupid. I did my time, eventually took care of everything else. Fines, etc.

I am trying to get my permit for the first time ever. I have to get an interlock for 4 months in order to get my permit. Very confused on that btw. Idk how it will work without having the ability to drive? Anyway, I finally have the money to get the interlock. I showed up (my husband driving) to the appointment yesterday and no one was there. After knocking and waiting 45 minutes outside of this little building, nobody answering the automated phone nor being able to reach anyone through the “live chat” we left. The sign said they’re open on Saturdays so we went back this morning. Same thing, no one there, no phone to call nothing. Two separate people showed up for their appointments. One lady said she’s been trying to reach them for days.

The only other two interlock places in my area are 45 minutes away, one in a different state. My husband works the opposite direction. So he’d have to leave work early 40 minutes away, come get me and then drive 45 minutes to somewhere that closes at 2pm. We’re broke af so having to pay the money for it, losing work to have the ability to get my permit is frustrating. I’m trying to drive so I can get a better job. I take the bus, have to get my son on his school bus and have to be home by the time my son gets off the school bus. 7:35am-2:15pm is my availability with taking the bus time added in.

This is my one and only charge. I have not been in trouble since, 15 years ago. I don’t drink. I’m just a mom sick of having to take the bus and not being able to drive myself to the grocery store.

Is there any way I don’t have to get an interlock? I know it’s a long shot and I have tried researching everything. Would I be able to do a petition to the courts or something along those lines? Any and all information would be so helpful. Even if I can’t.
