2026 Ford F-250 – 4 Repair Attempts In 45 Days, Same Issue Keeps Returning. Do I Have A Lemon Law Case In Illinois?
I purchased a brand-new 2026 Ford F-250, and I’ve been dealing with recurring electrical/computer issues.
Over approximately 45 days, I’ve had to take the truck back to the Ford dealership four times for the same recurring problem.
Location: IL
The dealership has attempted multiple repairs, including replacing and programming the gateway module. They also found 83 stored fault codes during diagnostics.
Despite these repairs, the problem keeps returning.
I’ve now escalated the situation and am looking into getting Ford’s engineering team involved.
I’m extremely frustrated because this is a brand-new, expensive truck that I purchased expecting reliability. I also use this truck for my business, so repeated downtime affects my work.
My questions:
Does this potentially qualify for Illinois Lemon Law?
Should I contact a lemon law attorney now or wait for Ford engineering?
Has anyone successfully gotten Ford to buy back or replace an F-250?
What happens if Ford engineering gets involved but still cannot permanently fix the issue?
Should I continue allowing repair attempts, or formally request a buyback?
I’d especially appreciate advice from Ford technicians, lemon law attorneys, or anyone who has experienced something similar.
