4800usd Defective Item. Amazon Refused A Return. Wise Requesting A Return To Proceed With A Chargeback? What Can I Do?

Hello folks, I've purchased an M5 MAX Macbook from Amazon US.

Location: Florida

I have received an useless, used, greasy, dirty and broken device on what should have been a new 4800$ laptop. They refused to open a return. I've initiated a chargeback with my card issuer, WISE. After more then a month of back and forth, Wise said:

"Please be advised that card network rules do not allow a cardholder to retain merchandise while simultaneously requesting a full refund. To proceed with your claim, you will need to return the item to the seller. Please contact the merchant immediately to request their return instructions and address."

But Amazon is refusing to open a return. I have sent the responses from Amazon refusing a return multiple times for Wise, and they still answered with that above. Their chargeback team is being AWFUL, it seems they do not read what I send at all. I also had to ask 5+ times for them to fix the typos on the product name they were sending.

Is it game over? Have I lost the money?

EDIT: Amazon is refusing due to it being past their return window.

I do not live in the US. I bought it to a family members place before my trip there. 15-day return window closed in Aug 6, I opened the box on Aug 13. The person who received it for me is going through a health issue and I did not want to bother her by asking her to open the box. I know. If it was that simple, I would not be asking here. I feel I'm out of options.
