Location: Missouri

Question: Am I looking for a consumer lawyer? I'm having difficulty finding an attorney in the area (New Madrid, Missouri). My understanding is that punitive damages may now be available due to clear deception, including attorneys' fees.

IN SHORT:
(The "Builder" is a one-person company)

I purchased a new construction home; the builder signed the required federal HUD documents, including one stating that the build complied with certain codes and that he would provide a warranty upon sale.

POST-SALE: Builder claimed he never signed anything. He claimed the Mayor of New Madrid and the Realtor forged his signature on all documents so the sale could go through. He claimed he never saw, was part of, and never signed anything.

The broker involved provided texts, emails, e-doc signing, ect, to prove he signed it. I presented this to him, and he claimed all this evidence was fabricated by the broker, and it's all a lie, and he never signed anything.

I filed with the AG's office in Missouri, and in the builder's response, he still continued to claim he never signed or viewed any documents.

In our first trial in small-claims court, the judge was unsure how to proceed and said the rules of evidence do not apply, so he ruled in favor of the builder.

However, after I presented my evidence, the builder admitted that he had received, viewed, and signed all these documents.

2nd Trial Date is already scheduled.
