Abc Fines
Location: Tennessee
I’m a bartender for a catering company and occasionally work weddings on top of my other job. At the most recent wedding I worked, there was an underage kid that ended up getting messed up and starting a fight and breaking a glass in a very public way. His mom or someone blamed the venue which then fell to the catering company.
At the actual venue, there was an unattended champagne wall, and there were no drinks served to this kid by the bar. However, there are no cameras or surveillance to prove otherwise.
One of my coworkers has been fired and just got notified that ABC is getting involved. At this point, just wanting to see if I personally will face fines, or if there are fines brought against me if I’m able to appeal them/argue that I did not serve anyone underage. Seeing that there’s $1500 potential fines and 5 year bans on my ABC card, so I’m wanting to know what my options are.
Any advice or experience would be super helpful! TIA
