After Waiting 20 Years They Want To Take Inheritance

Card image cap

Hi Redditors.

Location: Pennsylvania USA

Complicated but trying to make it as easy as possible. My father died leaving myself and my siblings stake in his trust from his mother who had passed away previously to him.

It has been 20 years since my father passed and finally they are attempting to distribute the estate settlement.

My father's siblings are attempting to take my brothers stake in the trust for what they claim was a loan provided to my brother for his interest in the trust.

There are no legal loan documents, nothing notarized but they state it is noted on the check that was provided when the funds were loaned.

Statute of limitations in Pennsylvania for loan repayments is 4 years and we are way past that timeframe.

Can they executer of the estate demand payment of this loan that she was not made aware of at the time of the loan.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated as the funds are not really enough to pay a lawyer for resolution.
