Being Harassed, Threatened, And Impersonated Online By Boyfriend’s Ex. What Legal Options Do I Have?

Hi, I’m a 22F in Florida and I’m dealing with ongoing harassment from my boyfriend’s ex, and I’m not sure what my next legal steps should be.

Over the past couple of weeks, she has repeatedly contacted me despite being blocked each time. She keeps creating new phone numbers and social media accounts to reach me (and him as well). She has found me on almost every platform I have.

Some of the other things she has done:

Sent messages threatening violence, including saying she would “put me in a hospital bed”

Said she would leak my personal information/photos

Contacted my dad on social media and tried to message him

Created multiple fake social media accounts impersonating me and messaging other people pretending to be me saying that I do drugs/calling me a whore & making up a bunch of other lies to defame me

Followed people I know from those fake accounts, leading to others reaching out to me about it

Reached out to people in my life to fish info about me

Continues to escalate even though I have ceased contact with her (I had argued on two occasions when really upset but I have since stopped responding and resort immediately to blocking when contacted now)

She has also said things like “see you soon,” which has made me feel unsafe in public.

My boyfriend has also been harassed by her (calls/texts from multiple numbers), and he has already gone to the police. We also spoke to a police officer tonight, who told us to go to the courthouse and file for an injunction, but mentioned that she may be out of state.

My questions:

Does this qualify for a stalking/cyberstalking injunction in Florida even if she is out of state?

Is impersonation like this something that can be charged criminally?

Should I also be reporting this to each platform, or is the injunction the main route?

Is there anything else I should be doing right now to protect myself legally?

I’ve already made all my accounts private and blocked her everywhere, but she keeps finding ways to contact me.

I am afraid of the cops here not taking me seriously though since she now moved from FL to VA.

Any advice on what steps to take next would really help. Thank you.
