Bought A Gaming Setup That Had Issues And Sent It In For Repair, Manufacture Now Says Its Investigating With Possibly The Authorities And Legal Team For Fraud. [location: Texas]

(Location: Texas) Awhile back i purchased a expensive gaming setup from one of these local liquidation/amazon return stores. Honestly i just played it alittle bit and kept having flickering issues with it recently so i sent it in the manufacturing company. Its a big company. Item cost under 5k and over 1k.

I get a email back saying that something internally is inaccurate with the inner and outer serial, and they are holding onto everything as evidence for fraud, and they are conducting a investigation, potentially using any evidence for legal proceedings, communication with authorities, etc., and they will invoke legal action or other measures depending on the outcome.

This really puts me on edge because not only did i pay quite an amount in cash for this setup, but im worrying if police will show up my door, get arrested, or sued, have to pay thousands for a lawyer?

From what i can understand, someone bought this setup on amazon, they swapped the internals and amazon let the item slide and the bin store/individual got it for pennies on the dollar and sold it to me. I didnt push it to its limits until recently which caused the cheap swapped internals to fail, and making me send it in.

I do have the original box, which has a amazon lpn return number (even has a amazon sticker partially on it). Hopefully they can trace that back to the original buyer.

Im wondering at this point should i reply back to that in their email briefly telling them what happened and im willing to assist them in their investigation with the lpn number since i have the original box?
