Boy Is Threatening My Little Sister.

My little sister(15) recently ended a relationship she had with her ex boyfriend(14) of 3 years. Very recently has she only come out and spoken about and shown pictures of bruises, a split lip etc. now that theyre apart. At least 100+ images as it started early on.

As of now, the ex boyfriend is angry and there's been issues going on since as a result. It's beginning to escalate and I'm trying to see the best course of action. She switched schools to get away from the ex, and turns out he has a friend, "J"(16), there with a legal history of getting in trouble for hitting girls in the past.

"J" messaged my sister, (with screenshots), threatening to "break her eye socket", and bragging about having been to court and having paperwork for "swinging on girls." He's in multiple of her classes and she's scared to go in to school on Monday.

I'm enraged in all honesty, I'm not sure whether to go with her to the police first or to contact the school and what will happen as a result. Her father is a neglectful alcoholic who hasn't taken the entirety of the situation seriously, and I(21) am the person who cares for her mainly, and I'm not sure how that plays into this considering I'm not her legal guardian.
