My Dead Mom Is Being Sued

My mom died a couple years ago in 2023 and my dad has been paying off some of her debt that she left, the usual stuff like credit cards, medical bills etc. We found out that a couple years ago maybe in 2020 my mom signed a car loan under her name for my aunt, we did not know this. My aunt is irresponsible and completely ruined the vehicle, never did maintenance and stopped making payments for over a year until they finally found the vehicle (trashed) and towed it. After my mom’s passing we began getting calls and letters saying my mom still owed thousands on the vehicle and we have recently received a letter saying the loan company is going to sue her. We just want to make sure that my dad’s property and things will not be affected, my parents were married but the house and cars were all under just my dad’s name. She did have one vehicle under her name but it was sold immediately after she died as it had already been sitting there for months and a family member was willing to buy it from us. our plan is to ignore the loan company for now but I am unsure if this is the wrong decision.
