Boyfriend's Mom Suddenly Wants His Car Back, Even Though He's Been Maintaining And Using It Every Day Since It Was Purchased.

My boyfriend (22) bought a car with his mom a little less than a year ago from my uncle. It was $6000 and bought with money she had saved for him from his dad's child support. Now, about a month ago she asked him if he would watch her 8 dogs and he told her he couldn't because of work but she kept asking and he eventually said yes but that he won't have a lot of time to actually care for the dogs. She got mad then and started guilt tripping him for her wasted plane ticket. She then apologized a couple weeks later and then the next day sent him the bills for his car insurance and phone bill which he's told her he would pay before but she always said no and that she didn't need his money. If the bills were sent with a reasonable amount of notice he would've just sent her the money, but she sent them less than a week before they were due (one the day before it was due) and he told her he wouldn't pay them. She then said it was disrespectful and that he was "coming at her crazy" for saying he wants to see bills he's paying with enough notice. For some reason this pissed her off and she demanded he pay her immediately or she would turn off his phone service and cancel the insurance. Anyway- you get the gist of the situation.

Now he's switched to his own phone line and gotten a new phone, and she's demanding he park the car at her house because he requested to be added as a co owner on the title if he's paying the insurance (and he already pays all the maintenance and gas) and she didn't like that at all. She keeps saying she's going to report the car stolen and call the police and tells him he's weak and dismissing his calm messages trying to come to a fair agreement by cussing and insulting him and saying to "have fun with your new family". Its to my understanding she's butthurt that he lives with me now instead of being at her beck and call at home- but i just need to know if her threats hold real weight? Obviously the car isn't actually stolen but he shouldn't have to just give it to her because she asked out of anger, right? The title is in her name but it was paid for with money meant for him, only he uses it, and he pays for all the car's maintenance. What are our options here?
