What Kind Of Trouble Can I Receive For Protesting At My University, Can I Be Expelled?
Location: Iowa
To start, this is a private university in the state of Iowa. I know that a lot of this is going to depend on certain conduct rules of the university but I want to get some general information first. I am planning to organize a protest on campus, which has been done before for state issues, but recently the school forced a student to deport herself, and now we want to rally behind the student and speak out against the university including sharing the names of the people behind the decision, could we get into trouble for denouncing the university publicly like that?
Another thing I want to do is we have a concert coming up later in the semester. it is a for credit course but it is entirely student led, the professors just facilitate putting the bands together and hosting the concert. if I use part of my stage time to speak out against the university (similar to the likes of green day or RATM) can they take any kind of action against me for that?
