Brother Created Uber Delivery Account Under Elderly Mother’s Identity (82 - Massachusetts)

Location: Massachusetts

My younger brother has registered an uber account under my 82 year old, cognitively impaired mother. We live in Boston, Massachusetts.

I am the primary caregiver for my mother. She was identified by her neurologist as having cognitive impairments such as with her memory after she failed the MoCA twice but never received an official dementia or Alzheimer’s diagnosis but did have identified deficits in her cognitive abilities and memory that led to her neurologist taking away her driving privileges.

My brother is forcing her to constantly meet him at the end of our street to do the identity verification selfies because there is a restraining order keeping him away from our house but I am unable to stop her from talking to him or going to see him despite me reporting multiple cases of elder abuse through the elder abuse portal / number in Massachusetts.

We have power of attorney and health care proxy (which i share with an older brother) active but the police and elder services won’t do anything to stop the communications or forced uber identity verifications and tell me to report it to uber which is next to impossible.

After the protective order went into motion my younger brother started calling my mother relentlessly to meet him at the end of the street to do the selfies.

As there is no 1800 number there is no way for me to talk to a human. The chat bots tell me to use the phone number he registered the fraudulent account under to report the account fraudulent. I told the police what was going on and even they haven’t been much help.

Has anyone had success getting through to uber customer support?

I am struggling to continue to care for her as none of my other siblings are being a help. They all believe that the restraining / protective order I got is a magical thing when in reality it just keeps him from our house. And even with it he violated it three times in the first week.
