California, 6 Year Old Twins Refusing Visits. Dad Is Abusive To Us, Judge Doesn't Believe It.

Location: California

A couple weeks ago, I got the kids to the exchange and they refused to leave with him. He called the police on me and said I was refusing to hand them over. (I was sitting on the ground and they were clinging and crying and a stranger stopped by to ask me if we needed help because he was obviously the problem.) Police came and said they were not going to force them. So they learned from this that they can refuse.

So they refused the next Saturday too, obviously. He tried persuading them with a surprise visitor and a princess Ariel thing and they still said no. Again, at the exchange location. I was not holding them back, I was not fighting or arguing or anything. But somehow the judge is convinced I'm the bad guy (and sitting on the floor was "confusing" per ex but I'm always on the floor playing with them.) After I went home with them he called police again and they called and talked to me and I said what happened before and that I was perfectly happy for someone to come talk to the kids. Nothing more came of it.

So he filed an ex parte with the court. And instead of addressing the refusal or abuse the judge changed the schedule to be through school. The kids are now trying to refuse school on exchange Monday and tried after school for someone to call me so they did not have to go with dad, but no one did and they don't feel supported or able to ask for help.

But the judge said the school isn't supposed to be involved anyway so how do they refuse to go to their abusive dad's house where they don't feel safe?

How do I make this awful judge see that dad is the controlling narcissist abuser? How do I protect my kids?
