Called Into Police Station For An Interview About A Crime Which I Was Named In. (fl)

Card image cap

Came home to find a detectives business card taped to my door. When I called him, he asked me to come down to the station because he has some questions for me. When I asked him what was this about, he proceeded to tell me he couldn't tell me at this time, but that i was implicated in a potential crime and he wanted to hear my side of things to clear things up.

I know not to EVER go down to the station without a lawyer present and that if i don't have one, to basically just not go. I have a few questions though.....

I cannot afford a lawyer right now unfortunately. By not going to this interview, are they just eventually going to get a warrant and come arrest me? I take care of my elderly father who lives with me and needs constant care. I can't be arrested and in jail for 30+ days.

Do local law schools offer any kind of help or is there free consultations or somewhere I can have someone represent or help me in this matter?

What do I do if the detective shows up at my house again?

Since he's asking me to come into the station, does this mean they don't really have enough on me to issue a warrant? Or is one coming and they just were fishing and seeing if I would come into the station on my own.

Thank you!
